Just at that time a call Came in and he answered it with the Instrument still connected to the outlet.

After a few seconds electricity flowed into the cell phone unrestrained and the young man was thrown to the ground with a heavy thud.

His parents rushed to the room only to find him unconscious, with a weak heartbeat and burnt fingers.
'
He was rushed to the nearby hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Cell phones are a very useful modern invention.

However, we must be aware that it can also be an instrument of death.

Never use the cell phone while it is hooked to the electrical outlet!

Atomic Energy Central School (AECS) is a central school meant especially for children of the employees belonging to the Nuclear Power Corporation and Indira Gandhi Center for Atomic Research .This is situated exactly 70 kms from chennai.I studied there right from my 1 std till my 12 th and really had good time learning lots of experiences .The school actually was at poor state when i joined it in the year 1992 ,but later after the arrival of new principal sharma the school began seeing improvements in all aspects .I can never forget my days when i got bullied by my hindi teacher for not finishing the workbook homework.I had a great interst for maths right from my 1 std all because of my maths teacher Ratnam .She used to be very friendly and supportive.
The school is exactly situated in shores of Bay of Bengal ,so we find great time going to beach after our school hours.The annual day of the school will be celeberated grandly and i always used to be a part of my school choir team.The school has produced lots of disciplined citizens and will provide in future too.Hats off to AECS

Hi people you would have heard about AIRTEL SUPER SINGER TV-show in Star Vijay.It recently conducted auditions for talented singers all round tamilnadu.They arranged 3 audition zones in tamilnadu namely Trichy, Coimbatore and Chennai . We all know Star Vijay has been doing wonderful job these days conducting innovative and creative TV-shows.It was really a tough competition to get into auditions .Though i failed to clear my first round itself , I m really happy to have been one of the participant of the show.It was a 2 -day audition , the crowd rushed up like hell thinking that at least they can show their face on TV.I had to board a bus from my town to the city early morning and had to stand in queue to just get the registration card.The day-long stand helped me getting the registration card but the no was 1561 so i had to wait till all these people finish.At last the day was over .They asked me to come next day at 9 am.I was really frustrated standing in long queue for hours . I came home back and slept and next day i boarded the bus and went hours before the specified time.Again i had to wait in the queue.Once i entered the reception hall i experienced a sigh of relief and had my seat.The crowd was alluring and confident. Chinmayee the famous playback singer was the one who compered the show and she conducted antakshari so that she could entertain the crowd .The happiest moment came when i got the chance to sing before Vinaya a playback singer. I made a blunder choosing a wrong and a tough song which was not all required for preliminary auditions .She didn't like my song and she rejected me.I was a bit annoyed and angry on myself to have chosen the wrong song .But the experience i learnt from it was great.All people will have desires to earn name and fame.Hence do keep in mind opportunity knocks the door only once!!!! Grab it once it knocks

We get to see headlines in newspapers like "women employee raped by cab driver" ,"sexual harassment of BPO girl".This leads to fear in the minds of parents sending their daughters to this kind of profession .Safe transport has been the main focus for all the girls and women during nights.Most of the cab drivers do harsh driving,sometimes they are heavily drunk and they don't bother driving in intoxication.
The death of Pratibha Srikantamurthy, a HP Globalsoft employee in banglore will always be a nightmare in all parents and daughters life.Hence the company rules goes this way that women must travel in the presence of another male employee.A separate transport department,nternal hotlines and SMS services were introduced to monitor commuting employees. Still, there has been no visible drop in the number of BPO cab drivers involved in crimes.
Women cannot quit the job for these kind of threats because its her livelyhood.According toNASSCOM survey, women constitute 38 per cent of the IT/BPO industry, the largest ratio in any country.Banning the involvement of womens in night shift has snatched away the job opportunities of many .

THERMAL ANALYSIS of the reactor vault

I carried out this project in IGCAR.As a part of this project we have developed a Computational Fluid Dynamic model comprising of main vessel, safety vessel and reactor vault of PFBR.Steady and transient thermal hydraulic analysis of the system have been performed considering natural convection of nitrogen, surface radiation among the main vessel , safety vessel, and the reactor vault and heat conduction through the support shell .The focus of the study has been to estimate the temperature evolution in the vault during the loss of cooling.It has been established that 4 hours after the loss of cooling, the vault attains a temperature of only 96 degree , which is much less than the limiting value of 177 degree On restoration of cooling , the vault temperature is brought down to the nominal value in 1 hour.These data are very important in deciding the safety action to be taken.The Design of the layout of reactor vault was done using GAMBIT and the analysis was carried out using STAR_CD aCFD code software.The validation of the code was done considering a parallel plate flow.

Engineers working to design a new spacesuit for the Constellation program have come up with a suit system that consists of two basic designs, or configurations, that will be used for different tasks. The orange suit in the illustration is Configuration One, which will be worn during launch, landing and -- if necessary -- sudden cabin depressurization events. It will also be used if a spacewalk must be performed in microgravity. Configuration Two, the white suit, would be used during moonwalks for lunar exploration. Since Configuration One will be used in and around the vehicle only, it does not need the life support backpack that Configuration Two uses -- instead it will connect to the vehicle by umbilical for oxygen, cooling water, power and communications links. Configuration Two, meanwhile, will include more hard metal elements in joint areas, which will provide the mobility necessary for surface exploration.

The victims could be a boy or a girl in any age group. Majority of sexual offenders are family members or are known to the child. Often sexually abused children feel ashamed and may go into a shell.
Parents can definitely play a major role in preventing and dealing with abused children, It has to be noted that the abused child needs a lot of moral and emotional support.There should never be any justification of abuse by saying that he/she must have done something to provoke it.Children are often told to give kisses or hug to their relatives .This is not always good.Let them express their affection on their own way.

Corporal punishment has been an age old debate, even having a age old proverb to its credit- "spare the rod and spoil the child".
Managing a class full of fractious children is difficult, especially with the pressures of an overload of corrections and heavy syllabus. Whatever be the rot causes, corporal punishment is not at all justifiable. schools adapt different strategies to maintain discipline and order. Some schools routinely rely on corporal punishment while some others prohibit this practice.The question is does corporal punishment serve any purpose?????

A nine year old girl was made to stand with her back facing the class, her skirt was lifted and her bottom was smacked because she had not done her homework , the teacher did not bother to enquire why she had not done her homework and tackle the specific problem. The result was utter humiliation coupled with intense fear of the teacher. Instilling such fear can have long term effects in the affected children's attitude to life.
Even a punishment like making children write a sentence 100 or 200 times serves no purpose.Regarding physical punishments likes making children stand for whole day outside the class or near principals make naughty children more adamant and naughtier.

Arpit Kavadia was a class 12 student at the Alok Sansthana School in Udaipur,India. He was severely beaten up by Indra Samar, a Sanskrit teacher of the school on 26th July, 2007 for having kept his legs on a table. He succumbed to his injuries and died on 2nd August, 2007 in General Hospital, Udaipur. The police registered a case against Indra Samar under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.

Ramu Abhinav, was a 16 year old class 10 student at Velammal Matriculation Higher Secondary School,in Chennai, India. He had committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan of his room on 12th July,2003 because he was stripped and severely beaten up by his mathematics teacher Kannappan in full view of his class mates. In his suicide note he said that "he was afraid of going to school and that he would do anything to avoid going to school". The teacher Kannappan was later arrested by the police.

Jagroop Singh was a 15 year old class 10 student at the Senior Secondary School(Pakhowal) in Ludhiana,Punjab,India. He was severely beaten up by his teacher Jatinder Kaur on 12th July,2002.He later succumbed to his injuries and died. The police had registered an FIR and booked the teacher Jatinder Kaur for murder.The teacher was later arrested on 20th July,2002. The teacher Jatinder Kaur was later granted bail and transferred to Lehal Secondary School in Khanna, Punjab, India. The case is still pending in Indian Courts.

A mother of a girl was arrested by the police for having beaten and hanged her 12 year old daughter in a village in Jodhpur,India. The girl had reportedly demanded to go to school. Her mother had gotten enraged at this and beat her with a rolling pin. When she saw that her daughter had become unconscious, she hanged her from the ceiling with a rope to make it appear like a suicide.

Shortage of petrol and diesel in the city's outlets seemed to ease a bit towards the evening after started the day on a grim note.

Sources in the oil retail business said while the situation in south Chennai eased a bit, the condition in the northern part continued to pose challenges for the oil marketing companies like the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL).

Fuel retailers also noted that police had to be deployed outside city limits to avoid possible law and order problems.

Supply of petrol and diesel to the city fell drastically on Sunday evening when oil tankers meant for BPCL did not arrive on time, said the state-level coordinator for oil industry in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

Chennai Port officials said that the berth for the expected tankers were kept free for the last two days and the shortage of fuel in the city was due to non-arrival of the tankers.

No spokesperson from BPCL could be reached for comments.

The crisis was managed to some extent on Monday and early Tuesday morning with IOC and HPCL outlets taking some of the demand load off BPCL outlets.

When similar shortage was experienced last week in many outlets across the city and its suburbs, the state-level coordinator of oil industry had denied any shortfall in fuel supply.

Large manufacturing and information technology companies in and around Chennai, where a majority of workers and staff commute using public and private transport, remained unaffected today despite many fuel outlets in the city trying to ration the little stock left with them.

Major employers like Cognizant Technology Solutions, Cybernet-SlashSupport, Hyundai Motor India, Ford India and Nokia, who spoke to Business Standard, said the fuel shortage is yet to hit their operations.

However, they were not sure for how long they can hold on. These companies use transport contractors to ferry their workers in and out of their facilities. These companies together employ nearly 44,000 people.

A Gopalrathnam, director, Cybernet-SlashSupport(CSS) that employs around 5,000 people, said: "We are hopeful that things will improve soon; otherwise our business economics will go for a toss. There is a very insignificant percentage drop among the employees who come on their own."

Hyundai Motor India that employs nearly 3,000 people in each of its three shifts at its plant at Sriperumbudur factory said that work has been progressing without any disruption so far.

The way things are going, it would take a miracle for Pakistan to make the final of the Asia Cup. And right now, that miracle seems very, very unlikely. Sri Lanka has looked extremely competent so far, and is already in the final, while India continues its good form and looks on course for a clash with Sri Lanka on the weekend.

In the Pakistan-Sri Lanka clash, it was surprised to see Shoaib Malik opting to chase. While all the other captains try to protect their players from toiling in the hot sun, Malik took the rather inexplicable decision of chasing.

Hopefully, Shoaib Malik will bat first if he wins the toss on Wednesday, especially since his batting has looked stronger while setting a total and fragile while chasing.

CDMA is a military technology first used during World War II by English allies to foil German attempts at jamming transmissions. The allies decided to transmit over several frequencies, instead of one, making it difficult for the Germans to pick up the complete signal. Because Qualcomm created communications chips for CDMA technology, it was privy to the classified information. Difference Between HIV and AIDS?

The dwindling march of the penguins is signaling that the world's oceans are in trouble, scientists now say.

Penguins may be the tuxedo-clad version of a canary in the coal mine, with generally ailing populations from a combination of global warming, ocean oil pollution, depleted fisheries, and tourism and development, according to a new scientific review paper.

A University of Washington biologist detailed specific problems around the world with remote penguin populations, linking their decline to the overall health of southern oceans.

"Now we're seeing effects (of human caused warming and pollution) in the most faraway places in the world," said conservation biologist P. Dee Boersma, author of the paper published in the July edition of the journal Bioscience. "Many penguins we thought would be safe because they are not that close to people. And that's not true."

Scientists figure there are between 16 to 19 species of penguins. About a dozen are in some form of trouble, Boersma wrote. A few, such as the king penguin found in islands north of Antarctica, are improving in numbers, she said.

Lord krishna is actually a dalit, he is dark-skinned [shyamalam]. He saved draupadi when she was being violated and he was the actual diplomat in mahabharatham. Lord krishna dies of an arrow striking his lower leg. Now look at how vincent was introduced.. he appears when asin is about to be molested and he saves her like draupadi. Vincent is the dalit diplomat, fights for land issue [soil issue to be exact] and dies from the metal rod striking his leg. Oh even five of vincent's men are drugged at P. Vasu's.. sounds familiar???

2. Balarama avatar - Balarama naidu
This is an easy given. as the name suggests and the role personifies you can easily get it.

3. Mathsya avatar - Ranagaraja nambi
nambi is thrown into water in an act of trying to save lord from being thrown into sea, though vainly. what more clue do you want?

4. Varaha avatar - Krishnaveni paatti
During the mukunda song, krishnaveni paatti does varaha avatar in the shadow puppetry. The frame freezes on it for a second. there is the clue. Moreover, in varaha avatar lord actually hides earth so as to protect life forms. Here too krishnaveni hides the germs - life form inside the statue so as to protect.

5. Vamana avatar - Kalifulla khan
remember in vamana avatar, lord vishnu takes the vishvaroopa, that is the giant form! Hence the giant kalifulla here symbolises vamana avatar.

6. Parasurama avatar - Christian Fletcher
Parasurama is actually on an angry killing spree and killed 21 generations of the particular kshatriya vamsa. Hence the real KILLER... Guess what thats what our Fletcher is! A.R. Rahman's music school launched in Chennai

Music maestro A.R. Rahman’s "KM Music Conservatory" was formally launched in Chennai on March 12 in the presence of renowned musicians from across the country and abroad.The school is temporarily located in Rahman’s studio in the City. It will shift to a three to five-acre campus on a quiet environment. The campus will have class rooms, a concert hall, a recording studio and residential accommodation for the faculty and students. The project is expected to be completed in two years.The school would offer three important courses: a part-time two-times-a-week preparatory programme for anyone with no age limit; a foundation course for beginners and a two-year diploma course for advanced study after the foundation course.The first batch will start in June 2008 with 150 students. ( About 200 applications have already been received). All admissions are through auditions. The fee structure is being finalized. Indian students will be charged a concessional fee. A 50 percent scholarship from Rahman’s Foundation will be offered to students considering their talent and economic background. T. Selvakumar is the managing director of KM Music Conservatory. Besides Rahman, others present on the occasion included Ms.Vendy Paar (violin trainer), Pushkar (composer-cum-conductor), and violin maestro Dr. L. Subramaniam (hon. adviser), Gulam Mustafa Khan (Hindustani vocalist), Randel Giles (composer from US), Lendis Lav (violinist from Czechoslovakia), Srinivas Krishnan (professor) and Murtaza Khan.Rahman’s objective is to create an authentic Indian orchestra or symphony that not only sounds distinctly Indian but also blends various aspects of Indian culture and bhakti, which "is at the heart of orchestral symphony".Rahman said the KM Music Conservatory is the first step and that it would serve as a bridge between music, technology and culture. "We want our Hindustani and Carnatic musicians to be able to read Western notations and adapt to playing with other musicians." Explaining why the school is called "KM Conservatory", Rahman said these initials are spiritually close to him and have brought him good luck. A project like this is a necessity for a country of 1.4 billion people who do not have their own national symphony orchestra when even small countries have their national orchestra, according to him. He observed that orchestral sound is probably the future of film music.Asked if this project would not affect his career in the film industry, Rahman said, "Not at all. I am doing just two films a year, so I guess I should have all the time." Dr. L. Subramaniam said, "It is a courageous and brilliant start. Ilayaraja, the musical genius and the only Indian music director to work with London Philharmonic Orchestra, is one of the best and evergreen music directors in South Film industry. Born as Daniel Rajayya in Pannaipuram, Madurai, Ilayaraja took to music when he was 14. He dropped out of school and joined his brother Pavalar Varadarajan, who was a musician for the Communist party of India. His prolific scores continued with films like Amavasya Chandrudu, Vasantha Kokila, Pallavi Anupallavi, Mounageetham, Abhilasha, Nireekshana, Kirathakudu, Rakshasudu, Sagarasangamam, Sitara, Anveshana, Ladies Tailor, and many many more. Ilayaraja composed music for more than 750 films in all the four South Indian languages. There is a special touch of Ilayraja in blending the western and classical. His tunes are always refreshing. No wonder he has got such a huge and loyal fan base. Efforts to preserve traditional music of Manipur

Imphal (PTI): To preserve Manipur's traditional music, an NGO has taken upon itself the task of setting up an indigenous tribal orchestra.
"The main purpose is to maintain old music forms of different tribes and to encourage young artistes in the field of traditional and old music forms," said Nameirakpam Tiken, Director of Progressive Artiste Laboratory (PAL).
It was difficult, he said, to find authentic data on old tribal music since most tribal communities had converted to Christianity and also due to modernisation.
It was also difficult to find the old musical instruments of tribal people, he said.
The main aim of PAL was to build up an indigenous orchestra of old tribal musical instruments, he said.
The PAL also provides a three-month training course of traditional music, he said.
He said PAL was making serious efforts to protect and revive music, performing arts or other art forms of different tribes in the state.
"We have conducted research in classical Manipuri dance, folk instruments, ballet, dance drama and contemporary folk traditions." he said.

Around 1796, Beethoven began to lose his hearing. He suffered a severe form of tinnitus, a "ringing" in his ears that made it hard for him to perceive and appreciate music; he also avoided conversation. He lived for a time in the small Austrian town of Heiligenstadt, just outside Vienna. Here he wrote his Heiligenstadt Testament, which records his resolution to continue living for and through his art. Over time, his hearing loss became profound: there is a well-attested story that, at the end of the premiere of his Ninth Symphony, he had to be turned around to see the tumultuous applause of the audience; hearing nothing, he began to weep.Beethoven used a special rod attached to the soundboard on a piano that he could bite—the vibrations would then transfer from the piano to his jaw to increase his perception of the sound. Rahman's interest in the works of Classical and Romantic period composers, Carnatic composers, early film composers and predecessors K. V. Mahadevan and Vishwanathan-Ramamoorthy of the film industry of Tamil Nadu and others continued through his late teens. He further explored and trained in Carnatic music, Western classical, Hindustani music and the Qawwali style of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, in addition to numerous other styles. His interest and outlook in music is said to stem from his love of experimentation.As a result, his scores have alternated from songs and themes composed covering a variety of genres, with unconventionally-grouped instruments, and different vocal styles being used and combined together in some of his film soundtracks, to more traditional orchestral themes with leitmotif techniques composed in others. Rahman's works often feature a mix of minimalist songs and evocative, thematic pieces, building on his differing chord progressions and rhythms. He has written scores and songs with new and varied melodic and percussive sounds from instruments of different music systems.
In addition to composing themes for charity media features and events, Rahman has set up the "A. R. Rahman Foundation" with a goal to eradicate poverty globally. This includes setting up and partnering with educational institutions across India to provide education to children who do not have easy access to schools or funds. In 2004, he was appointed as the Global Ambassador of the Stop TB Partnership, a project by WHO.He has shown support to charities including Save the Children, India, and worked with Cat Stevens / Yusuf Islam for his song "Indian Ocean" . Hindustani Classical Music is a North Indian classical music tradition that has been evolving from the 12th centuries AD onwards, in what is now northern India and Pakistan, and also Bangladesh, Nepal and Afghanistan. The tradition was born out of a cultural synthesis from several musical streams: the vedic chant tradition dating back to approx. one millennia BCE, the equally ancient Persian tradition of Musiqi-e assil, and also existent folk traditions prevalent in the region. The terms North Indian Classical Music or Shāstriya Sangeet are also occasionally used.

Around the 12th century, Hindustani classical music diverged from the principle which eventually came to be identified as Carnatic classical music. The central notions in both these systems is that of a melodic mode or raga, sung to a rhythmic cycle or tala. The tradition dates back to the ancient Samaveda, (lit. sāma=ritual chant), which deals with the norms for chanting of srutis or hymns such as the Rig Veda. These principles were refined in the Natyashastra by Bharata (2nd-3d c. CE) and the Dattilam (probably 3d-4th c. AD). In medieval times, many of the melodic systems were fused with ideas from Persian music, particularly through the influence of sufi composers like Amir Khusro, and later in the Moghul courts. Noted composers such as Tansen flourished, along with religious groups like the Vaishnavites. After the 16th century, the singing styles diversified into different gharanas patronized in different princely courts. Around 1900, Pandit Vishnu Narayan Bhatkhande consolidated the musical structures of Hindustani Classical music into a number of thaats. In the 20th century, Hindustani classical music has become popular across the world through the influence of artistes like Ravi Shankar, Ali Akbar Khan and many others.

Indian classical music has 7 basic notes (Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni), with five interspersed half-notes, resulting in a 12-note scale. Unlike the 12-note scale in Western music, the base frequency of the scale is not fixed, and intertonal gaps (temper) may also vary; however with the gradual replacement of the sarangi by the harmonium, an equal tempered scale is increasingly used. The performance is set to a melodic pattern (raga or raag) characterized in part by specific ascent (Arohana) and descent (Avarohana) sequences, which may not be identical. Other characteristics include King (Vadi) and Queen (Samavadi) notes and a unique note phrase (Pakad). In addition each raga has its natural register (Ambit) and glissando (Meend) rules, as well as features specific to different styles and compositions within the raga structure. Performances are usually marked by considerable improvisation within these norms.

CARNATIC THE DIVINE

Like all art forms in Indian culture, Carnatic Music is believed to have a divine origin - it is believed to have originated from the Devas and Devis.However, it is also generally accepted that the natural origins of music were an important factor in the development of Carnatic music. Ancient treatises describe the connection of the origin of swaras to the sounds of animals and birds, and man’s keen sense of observation and perception that tried simulating these sounds - after hearing and distinguishing between the different sounds that emanated from bamboo reed when air passes through its hollows, man designed the first flute. In this way, music is venerated as an aspect of the supreme (nāda brāhmam). Folk music is also said to have been a natural origin of Carnatic music, with many folk tunes corresponding to certain Carnatic ragas.
The Vedas are generally accepted as the main probable source of Indian music. The Sama Veda is said to have laid the foundation for Indian music, and consists mainly of hymns of Rigveda, set to musical tunes which would be sung using three to seven musical notes during Vedic sacrifices. The Yajur-Veda, which mainly consists of sacrificial formulae, mentions the veena as an accompaniment to vocal recitations during the sacrifices.
References to Indian classical music are made in many ancient religious texts, including epics like the Ramayana and Mahabharata. The Yajnavalkya Smriti mentions "vīṇāvādanatattvajñaḥ śrutijātiviśāradaḥ tālajñaścāprayāsena mokṣamārgaṃ niyacchati" ("The one who is well versed in veena, one who has the knowledge of srutis and one who is adept in tala, attains salvation without doubt.") Carnatic music is based on music concepts mentioned in Bharata's Natya Shastra. The Natya Shastra mentions many musical concepts (including swara and tala) that continue to be relevant to Carnatic music today.
While it is not clear whether ancient Tamil music has evolved into the tradition of Carnatic music, the unique similarities shared by both styles of music through history has been undisputed. Many of the modes used in ancient Tamil music (known as Panns) are entirely equivalent to the ragas used in the melakarta raga system of today's Carnatic music, while the rhythmic meters found in several musical forms (such as the Tiruppugazh) and other ancient literature, resemble the talas that are in use today.
Carnatic music saw renewed growth during the Vijayanagar Empire by the Kannada Haridasa movement of Vyasaraja, Purandara Dasa, Kanakadasa and others. Purandara Dasa who is known as the Sangeeta Pitamaha (the grandfather of Carnatic music) laid out the fundamental tenets and framework for teaching Carnatic music. Venkatamakhin is credited with the classification of ragas in the Melakarta System and wrote his most important work; Chaturdandi Prakasika (c.1635 CE) in Sanskrit. Govindacharya expanded the Melakarta Scheme into the Sampoorna raga system, which is the system in common use today.
